I’m Matthew Hedrick, and I founded Prog For Wishes in 2022 to share my love of Progressive Rock with Charlotte, NC musicians and local music fans. My wife Sandy and I have been volunteering for Make-A-Wish® since 2015, so when we sought a higher purpose to put on our first concert, we contacted Make-A-Wish® Central & Western North Carolina, who enthusiastically accepted our idea.

After a 35-year career in the Retirement Industry, I’m shifting my focus to playing more music and being more present to my loved ones and community. Prog For Wishes will continue to be our flagship charity event, but I will also use this platform to promote other for-profit progressive rock events in Charlotte, and explore new creative outlets.
